Owner's Engineering
Your independent technical partner, from investment idea to operational plant. Every option judged on performance and cost, against the owner's objectives alone.
Every party in an industrial project knows its own scope best: the licensor its process, the vendor its package, the contractor its contract. Nobody is accountable for the whole picture. That is the gap owner's engineering fills.
Our founding team has delivered engineering across 100+ projects in 30+ countries, including turn-key plant deliveries. Having worked on the owner's side, the contractor's side and the technology licensor's side, we understand the priorities and constraints of each.
From Concept to Performance Test
Investment Scoping & Concept Design
Most of a project's cost is determined here, and not all of the decisions are technical.
- Capacity, product portfolio and site — developed as scenarios and compared, not assumed
- Technology screening and process selection, supported by block flow diagrams and mass & energy balances
- Execution strategy — how the project is split into packages, who carries which scope, and where the interfaces between them are managed
- Local conditions that shape the design: utilities, logistics, permitting, local content and regional fabrication capabilities
- CAPEX and OPEX scenarios (±25%, consistent with AACE Class 4), with transparent assumptions behind every estimate
Basic & Detail Engineering
Once the investment decision is taken, engineering turns it into something that can be procured, built and verified; delivered by our core team and specialist partners where required.
- Process design developed into a coordinated engineering basis — PFDs, P&IDs and layouts every discipline works from
- Equipment specified around the process, not around one supplier's standard product, so bids arrive on a comparable basis
- Interfaces identified and resolved across disciplines before packages are awarded
- Packages prepared to match the execution strategy set at concept stage
- Design matured to construction level, where clashes and unbuildable details surface on paper instead of on site
- CAPEX estimate refined from ±15% at basic engineering (AACE Class 3) to ±5–10% at detail (AACE Class 2)
Supplier Scouting & Procurement Support
Procurement serves two distinct needs. Within projects, it is where engineering meets the market and the budget is either protected or lost. Outside projects, sourcing is a continuous challenge, for expansions, replacements and spare parts in operating plants.
- Supplier scouting across European, Turkish and Asian manufacturers — qualified against the actual operating duty, not selected from a preferred supplier list
- A competitive alternative to European pricing where technically justified — and a clear recommendation when it is not
- RFQ packages built on the engineering basis, so offers can be compared line by line
- Structured techno-commercial bid evaluation, including exclusions, deviations and commercial qualifications
- Vendor benchmarking on lifecycle cost — energy, spares, availability, service response — not headline price
- Vendor document review and expediting through to delivery
- Available as a standalone engagement — for greenfield projects, brownfield upgrades and ongoing spare-part sourcing, with or without our engineering scope
Installation Supervision
Engineering ends in documents; commissioning starts with a plant. Installation supervision ensures one becomes the other.
- Installation verified against the issued engineering documents — equipment location, piping routing and access for operation and maintenance
- Field deviations identified while correction is still cost-effective, and resolved without compromising the engineering intent
- Changes documented as they occur, so commissioning and operations begin from an accurate as-built baseline
Commissioning, Performance Test & Handover
The plant is finished when it performs, not when it is mechanically complete. Every fault costs more on site than on paper, and even more once product is in the plant.
- Testing starts before equipment reaches site: FAT and software simulation, followed by loop checks, functional tests, water runs and warm runs — building from individual devices to the complete plant
- Commissioning coordinated across operators, package vendors and process suppliers, each with a different view of when the job is finished
- Performance tests run against the guaranteed figures, under the conditions the guarantee covers
- Operator training and structured handover to the operations team responsible for the plant
